Advanced Bossa Nova Phrase 2222
In this rhythmic phrase the beat sequence contains 2 beats. Like in the previous lesson the sequence starts with the main beat (the first 16th note of the 4-beat rhythmic pattern). This may be simply counted as .1,2..1,2..1,2..1,2.. etc.
Sequences:
Using Bossa Nova Guitar numbering scheme the resulting phrase is described as 2222. This phrase is verey rarely used alone, one example of it's usage is Amor Certinho recorded by João Gilberto on album O Amor, o Sorriso e a Flor from 1960. However, in cut-out form it may be used as a part of cut and paste advanced phrases as it will be showed later in this section. It may also be used in instrumentals as well as in intros and bridges.
