As a compilation of the first 2 Jobim's individual non-instrumental US albums (the first one was instrumental  The Composer of Desafinado Plays arranged for the first time by Claus Ogerman in 1963 - the same year as Getz/Gilberto) this CD provides good overview of Jobim's early US years. Two mentioned albums are The Wonderful World of Antonio Carlos Jobim arranged by Nelson Riddle, from 1964 and A Certain Mr. Jobim arranged by Clas Ogerman, from 1966. Additionally this CD also contains some previously unreleased tracks that were  recorded together with the rest of the second album as alternatives sung in Portuguese. Arrangements are similar, although made by different arrangers. Claus Ogerman, being my favorite, does a marvellous job in Zingaro - very similar arrangement appears years later on João Gilberto's Amoroso. Jobim's original versions of Agua de Beber played in Bm, as well as Samba do Avião, O Morro Não Tem Vez (Favela) and Por Cause de Você stand out as well as Estrada de Sol and Outra Vez along with Zingaro among instrumentals. These albums are essential for all Jobim's fan and collectors. They  launched a characteristic Jobim's sound from late 60's that later appeared in popular instrumental albums Wave and Tide and even in his albums with Frank Sinatra: Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim and Sinatra & Company.
